招き猫!!!

Shawn is back from Japan and he bought these 招き猫 "Maneki Neko" (literally "beckoning cat") for the office.

Maneki Neko: The Lucky Beckoning Cat

We just call them 发财猫 "fa chai mao" in our office since we don't really speak Japanese in the office.

Why have 2 cats? Well apparently, the left paw is supposed to attract more customers while the right paw will bring money and good fortune. I joked that they could have just made one cat with both paws raised.

Meanwhile in project related news:

I discussed this with Muchacha a while ago and again on Thursday. I don't care about what the textbook has to say about marketing. I think the best way to market the HR LDMS system is to cut a deal with Janet for a portion of the profits from the sale of the system and have her help us market the system to her industry contacts.

Afterall, she has all the industry contacts and she gave us the info we needed to create the system in the first place. Muchacha says she's afraid to deal with Janet but that's just because Janet is very professional and she's more used to dealing with people on an informal basis.

Sounds like a job for the Solo-Operator. :-P

Now the only question is to we write this in our report as the marketing/sales strategy or the usual textbook crap?
